NLN Center for Transformational Leadership
Janice Brewington, PhD, RN, FAAN
NLN Chief Program Officer
With the complexity of academic institutions, health systems, and the external environment, nurse leaders must be positioned within all types of organizations. Responding to the call to integrate leadership theory across the curriculum and foster the development of leaders, the center provides an opportunity for nurse educators and nurses in practice to advance through the NLN Leadership Institute. The institute is comprised of two one-year programs: LEAD and Leadership Development for Simulation Educators.
The center promotes diversity and inclusivity in nursing and develops global leadership through the Institute for Diversity and Global Initiatives. Nurse educators can build skills using resources, vision statements, toolkits, and interactive programs provided through the center. The center also houses NLN’s public policy and advocacy initiatives. As the leading voice for nurse educators in the political arena, the NLN public policy and advocacy department creates influential advocacy leaders through #NLNVoices leadership development and innovative public policy & advocacy programming.
